BIOGRAPHY

Caroline Burton received her MFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers and her BFA from The Cleveland Institute of Art. She has participated in numerous group shows across the United States, including New York City. Solo exhibitions include PDX Contemporary Art, Window Project (Portland, Oregon), RealForm Project Space (New York), Cooper Gallery (Jersey City) and Elzay Gallery of Art, Ohio Northern University (Ada, Ohio). Her work has been featured in several museum shows. These include “The Feminine Mystique” at the Jersey City Museum, the New Jersey Arts Annual at the Jersey City Museum and the New Jersey Arts Annual at the Noyes Museum. Group show venues include Barbara Krakow Gallery (Boston), Accola Contemporary (New York City), Ernest Rubenstein Gallery (New York City) New Jersey City University, Art League of Long Island, Bond Gallery (New York City), 55 Mercer Street Gallery (New York City), Gary Snyder Fine Art (New York City) and New Jersey Center for Visual Arts. The traveling museum show, “100 Artists Make Prints,” includes a print by Ms. Burton. She is the recipient of many grants including two New Jersey State Council on the Arts Grants, three Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation grants and a grant from Rutgers Center for Print and Paper. Her work is included in many private and public collections including the Jersey City Museum, the Montclair Art Museum, the Morris Museum, the Noyes Museum and the Zimmerli Museum (all in New Jersey). Internationally, she is also represented in the collection of the Museo de Art Moderno de la Republica Dominicana in the Dominican Republic.

Ms. Burton was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Ohio and Colorado. She lives and maintains a studio practice in Jersey City, New Jersey.
